How to cite a conference paper in Nature
A conference paper is published scholarship presented at a meeting, usually printed in a proceedings volume. Cite the paper inside the proceedings, much like a chapter in an edited book. The recurring confusion is between the conference itself and its proceedings, which can carry different names.

What to collect before you cite a conference paper
- Author or authors of the paper
- Paper title
- Title of the proceedings
- Name, and often location and dates, of the conference
- Page range and publisher of the proceedings
- DOI, which most modern proceedings assign
