AMA (11th edition) to MLA (9th edition) FAQ

What changes between AMA (11th edition) and MLA (9th edition)?

MLA (9th edition) in text: Author-page in-text citations, for example (Author 23), with a Works Cited list. Reference-list formatting differs too, which is why each entry is re-rendered from its real record with the official MLA (9th edition) style file rather than text-edited.

Why did some references not convert?

A reference only converts when it can be confidently matched to a catalog record. Journal articles match very well; books and web pages without a DOI match less often. Unmatched entries are listed untouched, never guessed at.

Is my reference list stored?

No. The conversion is stateless and pasted text is never logged. Only anonymous match-rate counts are kept.
